It is primarily used for measuring the in‑plane ionic conductivity of solid electrolyte membranes such as proton exchange membranes and ion exchange membranes, and can also be employed for rapid determination of bulk resistivity and conductivity in conventional insulating or conductive thin films. The fixture is constructed from stainless steel and PEEK, offering resistance to acids, alkalis, and high temperatures; its electrode leads are positioned on the top of the fixture, enabling in situ measurements in electrolyte solutions (with the fixture placed inside a beaker) or under high‑temperature, high‑humidity conditions. During clamping, the metal electrodes move only vertically—without rotation—to prevent damage to the membrane. The operation is straightforward: after cutting the membrane to size, place it in the fixture, tighten the knob to ensure proper contact, or use a torque wrench for precise pressure control, then measure the membrane’s conductivity using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS).
Suitable for testing the cathode, anode, and separator performance of lithium, sodium, and potassium batteries; excellent sealing.
The EC-PEN electrochemical corrosion test pen is a sensor for conducting electrochemical corrosion tests under real‑world conditions. With the EC-PEN, on‑site electrochemical measurements can be performed, enabling the determination of critical information about corrosion rates. Equipped with integrated electrodes and an electrolyte, the EC-PEN is both portable and easy to use. It can be brought into contact with test specimens of any shape or size, allowing rapid assessment of localized corrosion behavior. The EC-PEN incorporates an electrolyte reservoir that immerses an Ag/AgCl reference electrode and a Pt wire counter electrode. During measurement, the tip of the EC-PEN—fitted with a porous membrane—is positioned at the target location on the component being tested; the electrolyte then flows out of the tip, wetting the local surface. With minimal preparation, electrochemical corrosion measurements of the sample can be carried out quickly. Thanks to its portability, straightforward sample preparation, and lack of stringent requirements for the test specimen, the EC-PEN opens up new possibilities for in‑situ, nondestructive corrosion monitoring. The EC-PEN is maintenance‑free and typically supports approximately 200 to 500 measurements, with a tip‑contact area of 1.5 mm².
